Program Description
The seminar is designed for CFO's, Controllers, accounting managers, investment officers, treasurers, internal auditors, and similar positions from community banks, thrifts, and credit unions. The following topics will be presented:
Hot Topics in Tax - This session will cover recent corporate tax law changes and topics that are the current focus of external auditors. Presenters Michael Tighe and Howard Braithwaite.
Alteryx for Excel Users in Finance and Tax - In the presentation, we’ll introduce what Alteryx is, discuss common problems that it solves and demonstrate its core functionality. Presenters Ryan Lynch and Blake Lowry.
Fair Lending - Compliance with Fair Lending Regulation continues to be a regulatory focus, and requires; a strong understanding of the laws comprising Fair Lending, as well as the various types of discrimination. This session will provide an in-depth overview, as well as real life examples, and will also include an overview of recent regulatory actions as a result of discrimination and unfair, deceptive, abusive acts or practices (UDAAPs). Cybersecurity: Risking Risks, Frameworks and Risk Mitigation - Cybersecurity continues to be top of mind for financial institution executives as it requires daily vigilance. Yet how to address risks can vary greatly depending on the nature, size and scope of your organization. Staying in compliance with growing regulatory expectations, while monitoring and maintaining the proper controls, requires dedicated, careful and constant attention and a comprehensive approach. Michael Tighe
Managing Director, Global Tax Management
Mike is a Managing Director within GTM’s lead tax practice based out of the firm’s corporate headquarters in in the Philadelphia Metro region. His broad range of experience providing federal, state, and international tax services to large multinational corporations enables him to deliver improved efficiencies and reduced costs to clients across a variety of industries. Mike’s personal attention to clients and his technical acumen have given him industry recognition as a trusted tax advisor. Since joining GTM in 2005, he has assisted clients with all types of corporate tax services including income tax compliance, ASC 740 provision calculations, due diligence, and tax planning.
Howard Braithwaite
Principal, Global Tax Management
Howard is a Principal at GTM based in the firm’s Philadelphia Metro office. His primary focus is on federal and U.S. international income tax matters. Howard has more than forty years of professional tax experience, all with two Big Four firms: PwC and KPMG. The majority of the time with PwC was with their Washington National Tax Practice. The ten years was in the International Tax Practice group with KPMG. During this time, Howard managed tax consulting services related to federal and U.S. international tax matters, as well as tax provision review services. Early in his career he devoted time to tax compliance services in the form of review of client federal income tax returns.
Ryan Lynch
Chief Technology & Information Officer, Global Tax Management
As Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) for GTM, Ryan provides strategic technology leadership across the entire organization by advancing continuous innovation in GTM’s services delivery model. In this role, Ryan is also responsible for executive oversight of GTM’s Tax Automation Services (TAS) practice. The TAS practice has experienced significant business and personnel growth under his leadership. Ryan is committed to providing clients with technology-enabled services in a practical and value-added manner. This includes corporate tax software applications and enterprise technologies such as business intelligence, data management, collaboration, and RPA software.
Blake Lowry
Manager, Global Tax Management
Blake is a Manager in GTM’s Tax Automation Services (TAS) group, focusing on helping clients improve their tax processes through automation. His specialties include the successful implementation of the ONESOURCE Tax Provision and ONESOURCE Income Tax platforms. Since joining GTM in 2018, Blake has been a valued member of the TAS team, working on numerous ONESOURCE Tax Provision and ONESOURCE Income Tax implementations.
Juliya Kofman Greenfield
Compliance Principal, RKL LLP
A Principal in RKL’s Financial Services Industry Group, Juliya specializes in serving financial institutions through risk assessments, training, compliance review performance, auditing and more. She has deep experience in compliance and risk assessment, specifically consumer, commercial and residential lending reviews, targeted Regulation B, HMDA, Unfair Deceptive Abusive Acts or Practices Act, Regulation E reviews, deposit operations and overdraft product reviews, BSA/AML audits and assessments and website/social media reviews.

Michael McAllister
As Partner and Leader of RKL’s IS Assurance and Advisory Services Practice, Michael's focus lies in helping clients navigate through the issues and concerns that may keep them up at night. He serves clients in a variety of industries, ranging from manufacturing to retail, technology and financial institutions, bringing an extensive background in resolving information security and financial audit risks. The core services provided by Michael and his team include: information technology internal audits; IT governance, reevaluation and design; and QA/IV&V (Quality Assurance, Independent Verification and Validation) engagements.
